6 of the best drones in the world

Drones are a pretty big thing, they are becoming more and more popular. You can buy all kinds of drones and all kinds of sizes. There are very simple drones that just fly around but there are more complex drones that can record video, take pictures, follow you around, have sensors to prevent crashes and much more. They are even used to film parts of big time TV shows and and of course used in many many Youtube videos. They are promoted and advocated by many big youtubers.
6] Nixie
Drones are coming in all different shapes and sizes. It would be so cool if you could have a drone that you wear around your wrist like a watch and then let it take off to capture the world with its camera. Nixie can unfold into a quadcopter, fly around to take photos and videos and then return to the user. The Nixie developers secured $500,000 in seed funding to develop Nixie into a product, which is great for us. The developers want this to be the next generation of point and shoot cameras, from what we can see with the level of innovation it certainly has some potential. The Nixie wearable drone looks great and the level of creativity, design and innovation gone into producing it is certainly pushing the boundaries of what we already have on the market.
Nixie is worn as a slap bracelet weighing less than 45 g. It captures full HD images or video, uses an Intel Edison chip and syncs with your smartphone. The overall goal for the project was stated as building a light, portable and user-friendly drone that could serve as a “personal photographer”. The drone was named after a playful water spirit Nixie of Germanic mythology. The Nixie is intended for taking framing-worthy pictures and videos, not only selfies.
Sensors and motion-prediction algorithms are used to guide Nixie along one of four pre-programmed paths for taking photos or video.
  • In a boomerang mode, the drone flies a set distance from its user, takes a photo, and then returns.
  • In a panorama mode, it takes photos to fill a 360° arc.
  • In a follow me mode, it serves as a third-person view camera by trailing the user.
  • In a hover mode, it hovers for use in jib shots and can be controlled from a smartphone.
5] ZeroTech Dobby

This pocket sized rechargeable drone is an amazing piece of technology that pushes the boundaries of compact, high quality drones. This ZeroTech Dobby mini selfie pocket drone has a 13mp high definition camera, 4K-image acquisition and a 1080P high definition digital video stabiliser. You can easily control the drone with your phone’s swipe function or use your phone as a motion controller. The propellors fold in making it really easy to put into your pocket and it fits. It has sensors underneath a lithium iron battery and flies really well with crisp video footage.

Dimensions: With propellers in – 135mm x 67mm x 36.8mm. With propellers expanded – 135mm x 145mm x 36.8mm. Weight: Only 199g, no FAA registration is required
4] Vantage Robotics Snap Drone
The Fuselage detaches from the propellers and they snap together making it easy to carry round in your backpack. It has a great Sony Exmor IMX 377 1 / 2.3” camera sensor, a smart battery that lets you know when it’s running out, smart tracking that knows where you are and where it is, a tonne of sensors (GPS, sonar, gyros, accelerometers, magnetometers, barometers, geo-aware image sensors) and a lot more. This is a cool drone.
3] EHang 184 passenger drone

Drones recently have become serious business. People everywhere love drones and they are becoming more common due to their very affordable prices. You can use them to record high quality arial footage for vlogs or TV shows and they do fly high and fast. People buy them for entertainment and use them for drone races which are becoming all the more popular.

Now there is a drone that flies people around. The EHang 184 passenger drone made by the Chinese can now carry a single passenger weighing 220lb or 100kg along with a suitcase anywhere within a 10 mile/23-minute flight time reach.

Passengers will only have minimal controls: take off, pause flight and land. The drone’s autonomous flight controls do the rest. A control room will monitor the drones remotely via 4G mobile internet. With a battery that lasts for up to 30 minutes of flight and a range of up to about 30 miles (50 kilometers). Though the drone can reach up to 100 mph (160 km/h), but the drone’s average operating speed will be about 60 mph (100 km/h). The EHang has a max flight height of 11,000 feet.

If something does go wrong and the drone fails you won’t fall out of the sky as the drone has a full failsafe system. This drone will be flying around Dubai in the summer of 2017 according to reports and EHang tells us that it estimates the price of the 184 will be around $200,000 to $300,000.

2] DJI Mavic Pro
The Mavic from DJI packs features you once thought possible only on much larger platforms into a compact quadcopter that is snappy, agile, and captures high-resolution images. The drone features an advanced flight control system that draws on a host of sensors — including a ground-facing camera, ultrasound, GPS, dual redundant IMUs, and more — to keep track of where it is flying in 3D space and even avoid collisions. The Mavic works in tandem with DJI’s GO mobile app for accessing settings, getting a telemetry readout, viewing a low-latency video feed, and even editing and sharing your footage. In addition traditional joystick style controls, you can fly with simple tap-based commands, and the Mavic can even recognize gestures for the perfect selfie.
  • Gimbal-Stabilized 12MP / 4K Camera
  • OcuSync Transmission Technology
  • Up to 4.3 Mile Control Range
  • Up to 27 Minutes Flight Time
  • GPS- & Vision Position-Based Navigation
  • FlightAutonomy with Obstacle Detection
  • DJI GO App-Based Control and Monitoring
  • Top Speed of 40 mph in Sport Mode
  • ActiveTrack Subject Tracking Modes
  • Tap- and Gesture-Based Commands
1] DJI Phantom 4

Drones are the latest craze amongst young men, tech enthusiasts and vloggers. This DJI phantom 4 drone is the best drone on the market and one that is good looking, has crisp video quality and has a lot of clever tech packed into its flying software.

  • Avoid obstacles automatically.
  • Track moving subjects automatically using ActiveTrack.
